To było dla nas jak znalezienie czegoś wspaniałego w czymś niezwykłym.
Album "Fingers Crossed" stał się sławny kiedy wytwórnia Bar/None wydała go w USA. Jak nawiązaliście współpracę z tą wytwórnią?
Wysłaliśmy im swój album i naprawdę im się spodobał. To wszystko, żadnych zbiegów okoliczności i magicznych historii o przecieraniu ścieżek.

Jakie są wasze plany muzyczne (nowe albumy, EP-ki)? Czy zamierzacie współpracować z jakąś europejską wytwórnią?
Potrzebujemy wytwórni, aby wydać nasz nowy album na początku przyszłego roku. Potraktuj to jako wymówkę!
W waszym zespole gra 8 osób. To dużo jak na zespół. Czy możecie wyjaśnić jak było skompletowanie tak dużego teamu?
To odbyło się z wielką dozą trudności i dużą ilością zabawy.
W "In Owls Go" można usłyszeć dziecięce głosy. Czy użycie tego efektu było jednorazowym eksperymentem?
Tak. Na naszym nowym albumie będzie więcej odgłosów zwierząt. Użycie dziecięcych głosów było spontaniczne.
Do tworzenia muzyki używacie wielu instrumentów. Czy wszyscy macie muzyczne wykształcenie?
Nie. Aktualnie nikt z nas nie ma, zespół jest połączeniem własnej nauki i praktyki co sprawia że brzmi to ciekawie.
Na całym świecie Wasz album zabiera dobre opinie i recenzje. Czy jesteście w pełni usatysfakcjonowani waszą pracą? Czy jest coś co chcielibyście zmienić na "Fingers Crossed"?
Jestem dumny z "Fingers Crossed" jako z dokumentu pewnego okresu czasu. Nie chciałbym nagrywać go jeszcze raz. Myślę ,że powinien wytrzymać próbę czasu.
Jakie są wasze wrażenia po koncertach, które graliście w tym roku w USA?
USA było niesamowite. Wrócimy tam za kilka miesięcy. To świetne miejsce na trasę koncertową. Prawie wszędzie byliśmy wspaniale przyjmowani.
Czy granie jest Waszą jedyną działalnością? Czy macie inne zawody?
Tak jakby. Pomimo tego, że wszyscy chcielibyśmy tylko grać, życie tylko z tego w Australii graniczy z nieprawdopodobieństwem.
Kto pisze muzykę a kto teksty w Waszym zespole?
Ja, Cameron, piszę wszystkie teksty a muzyka w każdej piosence powstaje jako wynik współpracy. Bycie w zespole z taką dużą liczbą osób czyni z komponowania zabawę, gdy wszyscy są pod różnymi wpływami i mają różne pomysły.
Architecture in Helsinki is quite an original name for a band. Why did you call your group like that?
To us it is about finding wonder in something obscure.
"Fingers Crossed" became popular when Bar/None released
it in the USA. How did you arrange cooperation with this label?
We sent them our album and they really liked it.
That's about it. No magic stories of crossed paths or
coincidence.
Is your music inspired by other Australian
bands in any way? If so, could you mention them?
The Go-Betweens, Qua, Jeremy Dower, New Buffalo.

from Australia?

What are your plans for the future? Do you intend
to cooperate with any European label?
We need a label for the european release of our new
album to come out early next year. Consider this a plea!
There are 8 people in your band, could you explain how did you manage to complete such a large lineup?
With a great deal of difficulty combined with a whole
lotta fun.
In "The Owls Go" we can hear children's voices.
Is this a one-time experiment?
Yes. We are much more into animal noises on our new
album. The kids were a very spontaneous thing.
You use many different instruments, are all of you
trained musicians?
No way. Actually one of us does, the band is a mixture
of self taught and learned which makes for an interesting
sound.
Your album gets good reviews from around
the world. Do you feel completely satisfied with "Fingers Crossed" or is there something you would like to change in the album?
I am proud of fingers crossed as a document of that
time. I would never make an album like it again.
I think it should hold up OK over time...
What are your impressions after concerts that you
have played in USA this year?
The US was amazing. We will be back there in a few
months.It is such a great place to tour. We were really well
received almost every where.
Is playing music your only occupation?
Sort of. Though we'd all love to just play music.
being able to make a living off of it in Australia
is a near impossibilty.
Who writes music and lyrics in your band?
Well I, Cameron write all the lyrics,
and the music is a big collaboration
which varies a great deal from song to song.
Being in a band with so many people makes
songwriting slot of fun, as everyone has really
different influences and ideas.
